Breed Overview

Olive Eggers are created by crossing dark‑brown egg layers with blue‑egg breeds, producing hens that lay a wide range of green‑toned eggs. The Splash color—a diluted blue pattern with soft, random dark flecks—adds a unique ornamental quality. As many blue(green) egg layers are actually heterozygous for the blue gene, with several versions of olive egger crosses you get a mix of brown egg layers and olive egg layers.  In our group ~20% of offspring will lay brown marans color eggs.
